7 Must Know Barriers to Stay Away From if You Want Success

Welcome back!

You want to start up a business on the Internet but it has not happened. What can you do to put yourself on the journey to success?

You can identify what is stopping you and take steps to overcome these common but deadly barriers.

Lack of Goals

If you sit down at your computer with the Internet connected with no goals, it is likely you will end up surfing without a purpose.  This is very time consuming.

Decide what you want to achieve, make it as specific as possible and plaster copies of them all over your home so you can not fail to read them at least 5 times a day.

Your mind will start to believe them and if you take active steps to achieve them – they will not be out of your reach.

Lack of Money

Okay for some people this will be a genuine factor but for the majority of us, there is a vice or an activity we can give up, like smoking, the odd bottle of wine or a membership subscription.

Most of us will be able to find something to give up or cut down on for the few months it takes to get started.

The Internet provides so many free resources and is the cheapest way to start a business these days so buckle down the purses or give up a vice and join the ride.

No Research

This is the most deadly barrier.  Because you might think you have an idea for a product but unless you are absolutely sure there is a market for it, you have no assurances of success.

If you have a list you can ask them for their opinions.  Or go onto some of the many forums and ask for people’s opinions and test the water.

Do not create a product and waste precious resources until you are sure there is a market.  Even better create the product after you have investigated a market and know what they want.

Do You Need to Break Your Habits to Become Successful?

People living today are extremely lucky. 50 years ago the internet never even existed, and cable TV was something you read about in sci-fi magazines. Now, thanks to the internet, you can find information on virtually anything you want, instantly. This is something that was only a dream just 10 years ago.

Yet with all this information available to us, people still fail to become successful in life. Why is this? After all, there is so much self help information available telling us how to be successful, but most people still fail to achieve success. Why do people still suffer from depression, when there are so many books telling them how to live a great life?

The fact is information is not the problem. And no matter how much technology advances, people will always have the same problems.

What Are The Reasons People Fail To Achieve Success?

If you ask someone why they never succeeded in what they were trying to do, they will most likely tell you it was someone else’s fault or something happened that was beyond their control. However, if you compare that person’s life against someone else’s life, you could probably find many examples of people who suffered under far worse conditions yet still became a success.

This shows us that the real reason people fail is not because of something outside of them, rather the reason lies within.

Internal Reasons for Failure

When you continue to do the same thing over and over again it is called a habit. You are probably familiar with bad habits such as smoking, but are you familiar with the habits of failure or the habits of success?

Is Your Fear of Failure Keeping You From Being Successful?

It is well documented that many people fail to achieve their goals in life due to the phenomenon known as “fear of failure” but are you aware that a major factor that is often overlooked, is a state known as “fear of success?”

Fear of failure will lead many people into inertia – the inability to make decision or take action in case they receive rejection or negative outcomes. This mental state is fairly easy to identify and there are many tools in the personal development industry to help combat this plague and reprogram the mind for success. However, the fear of success is much more subtle, harder to spot and also harder to eradicate.

Perhaps you have this tendency in your life. Here are some indications of a fear of success mentality.

Studying and trying to implement self-improvement techniques and/or personal development tools but your life does not improve or may even get worse.

You settle for less than you feel you deserve or are capable of achieving.

You start new projects full of enthusiasm and optimism but wanes in your efforts or stop short before you have completed them.

You expect things to go wrong no matter how well the situation appears to be at the moment.

Can you identify your own patterns in the any of the above statements?

The fear of success can also make you behave in ways that hold you back. Look at the list below. These are the symptoms of the fear of success.

Procrastination

Putting off what needs to be done or not doing what you know will bring you closer to your desired result. Everyone suffers from this inner ‘demon’ at some point in their lives (although some of us suffer from it more than others!).

Procrastination is a ‘success killer’! How can you expect to reach your destination if you do not take steps towards it? Strive to do little things each day that will bring you small steps closer to your goal. This is why having a personal development plan is an essential ingredient in the fight against procrastination. Take action! Any action! Refine your steps as you go along but do not sit and do nothing. Taking action is one of the key aspects in personal development.

5 Tips on How to Build a Successful Relationship

The best way to build lasting relationships and win people’s trust is to treat them with respect.  Here are five things you should consider when building the relationship to success:

Always be early

If you are scheduled for an appointment or meeting, do not wait till the last minute to attend.  In your daily schedule or planner, plan milestones on when you should be getting ready for an appointment.  In other words, schedule your time so that you save what you are working on, start preparing materials that are needed for the meeting and start to make your way to the location.  If you have to drive to a different location make sure that time is allowed for any delays that may occur.  Keep in mind if you are wasting people’s time this is the quickest way to destroy the relationship if one has been built.

Always communicate

Communication is a vital part of success, make sure that you answer and return your phone calls.  When people are speaking to you make sure that you listen carefully and completely.  Make an interest about the other party before talking about you.  While on the phone with others give all your attention to the conversation.  Do not try and take care of other tasks such as reading or replying to emails.  Only return phone calls when you are able to give 100% attention to the conversation.  If you ignore other people not only is it rude but is very unprofessional.

How to Atrract Success to Make Your Dreams Come True

We all wish to be successful and yet somehow we seem to be missing the target. In this article we will show you how to become more successful in all your endeavors.

Success often eludes many people. Like the inevitable pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, people set their hearts on following their dreams only to wake up disappointed.

Disappointment can be crushing to people. They sit and wonder what on earth they did wrong. They may have a strong belief in that pot of gold, but a dream alone cannot make your visions a reality.

You may have read a myriad of books and followed all the rules and imagined yourself as the successful person that you want to be. Your vision may be crystal clear and that is a good thing.  The Bible says, “Without a vision the people perish”.  The problem remains that envisioning yourself as being successful is not enough.

What are your dreams?

What are your hopes for the future?

Have you ever written them down?

If you could be anything that you wanted to be and go where you wanted to go, who would you be? What would you be like? Where would you be living?

I want you to take a few moments now and write down the answer to these questions. Be as specific as you can so you can visualize these things as being true today.  Crystallize these ideals in your mind.

Do not cheat here, this is an important exercise, now go and write the answers down on a piece of paper, or better yet in a dairy. You can call this your Dream Dairy to Success.

Now ask yourself this question: What do I need to do in order to live the life I dream of?

What do I need to do to make my dreams a reality?

The road to success is always under construction

Taking it Step by Step to Achieve Your Goals for Success

You have a dream!  Now, how do you make it happen?

First, imagine that it is real.  See every detail so clearly that you can reach out and touch it.  You can feel the emotions of being there.  For example, if you want a certain car, then what kind is it?  What color is it?  Imagine you are sitting in it like you will when it is brand new.  How does it feel?  How does it smell?  Go for a drive in your car.  If it’s a convertible, drive with the top down! Experience the wind blowing in your face and through your hair. Hear the sounds around you. If you can take a real test drive in one, do that!  Get a picture and post it where you will see it each day. Do this visualization several times a day until it becomes part of you.  This action is important because your subconscious will help enable you to reach your goals to achieve your dream.

Next, break the big dream down into specific, measurable goals to get you there.  If you are dreaming of something that costs a certain amount of money, like the car, you will set a date on when you want to have this money.

Once you have your date then break your timeline down into segments. Perhaps you set the date one year from today.  So the next step is to break that down into a goal for each month, then a goal for each week, then a goal for each day.  It may be easier to start with the days, and then multiply out to the weeks and months.

Success Keys, How to Unlock the Locks to Success

Emulating successful people is one key to success. Be careful, though, if you ask them for advice. Often, people do not really know why they succeed, but they will give you as many explanations as you want anyhow. One night on the news, I saw a 100-year-old man explain that smoking a big cigar every day was one of the secrets of his longevity. It might be nice to know why he has lived so long, but I am pretty sure we will not learn by asking him.

Study Successful People

The second key to success, is not doing what successful people say, but rather doing what they do. This is how to learn success. Naturally you have to look closely and apply a little brainpower to see what they are really doing that is causing their success.

A successful real estate investor told me he did not believe in setting goals. However, watching him and listening to him, I came to realize that he knew just where he expected to be with his projects in six months. This, of course, is goal-setting – he just called the process something else.

Never stop listening to what successful people have to say, but read between the lines. Listen for insight into how they think about things and how they approach their challenges. Suppose the advice of a successful basketball player is just to practice more, but he casually mentions “I saw that going in,” after a great shot. Is not time to start visualizing your shots going in?

Model Successful People

You will not always know what is causing a person to be successful. Internet marketers promote their websites by exchanging links, but when I first tried to exchange links with other websites, the owners did not respond to my emails. Then I found a simple email letter used by a successful internet marketer to get links. It sounded silly to me, and I wanted to change it, but I tried it anyhow. Guess what?  It worked repeatedly.

It is more important to do the right things than to understand why they are right. To also understand is great, but at first, it may be best to just copy many of the actions, attitudes and approaches of someone who is succeeding. Try to model success, even before you understand it.

As you learn more, you can drop those parts that are not contributing, and add elements of your own. If you model a successful parent, for example, and life with your children gets better, does it matter if you know right away which changes were the most effective? Of course not.

Is it better to understand why, what you are doing is working? Certainly, although you may not ever understand why some things work the way it does, and this is okay too. It is better to have success than to explain it, so find successful people and do what they do, not what they say. This is an important key to success.

11 Great Reasons why Smiling makes us More Successful!

Our sweet smile for you, my Dearest :-)..Have ...

Image by Thai Jasmine via Flickr

First: Our smile shows others people that we are friendly.
If a stranger approached you and gained eye contact with you and then treated you to a broad smile you will have a fairly good idea that they are being friendly and certainly mean you no harm.

By contrast we would find it far more difficult to offer trust to the stranger that wears a scowl or unfriendly face features.

Second: A smile can make people happy.
When someone treats you to a smile, even a stranger, you usually smile back.  For that moment you enjoy a flash of positive communication without saying a word. As you walk through a crowed area such as a main street you can do this hundreds times in a very short period of time.

When you smile at someone who is not already smiling and they smile back you have brought a moment of happiness into their lives which, who knows, could last all day.

Third: Smiling is infectious.
When you spend a lot in the company of someone who smiles a lot you will soon discover that their smile starts to wear off on you.  It is hard not to return a smile; most of us do it at a subliminal level without thinking.

Fourth: Smiling can make you popular.
Which type of people do you prefer? A person that has a tired and listless face. An expression that may reflect their inner thoughts of boredom and worry? Or, would you prefer someone who is always smiling and shows that they have an enthusiastic passion for life.

I think for the majority of us the choice would be obvious!

Fifth: Smiling can help you to make new friends
In the same way few of us would choice a miserable person for a friend. Lets face it we all want someone who is going to be bubbly and a happy and positive.

Sixth: A smile is usually returned
When someone smiles back at you it make you feel good inside. You have just made a short but very positive communication and possibly the first step in the process of getting to know or making friends with someone new.

Seventh: Smiling makes you positive and happy inside.
When you smile it is hard to feel unhappy, negative or sad in anyway. Smiling gives you enthusiasm and drive, it is also habit forming.

Eight: A smile makes you look far more attractive.
You don’t see many celebrities or media personalities that are not smiling because if you did it is fairly certain that their popularity would quickly start to drop!

Ninth: Smiling also helps make you memorable to others!
Have you noticed that smiling people are usually far more memorable than those that are not? It is fact that you are 3 time more likely to remember the person that is smiling over the one that is wearing a negative or neutral features.

Tenth: Most importantly, smiling is good for your health!!!
When you are smiling you find whatever you are doing far easier. It releases stress, worry and tension that you may have built up throughout the day. Long term, developing the smiling habit will be one of the smartest things that you can do to improve most aspects of your life.

Eleventh: The effects of smiling can last for hours
Whatever problems and challenges you have in your life, smiling temporary puts them and hold.  For a while you forget the problems and become positive, and while you are in a positive state you have far more potential and power to advance and improve your life.

Lastly: Smiling is FREE!
You are never going to run short of smiles and will always have enough to go around.  When you weigh up the positive points of smiling it is a no brainer decision to do far more smiling and share them with as many people as possible.

Keep smiling!

5 Traits of Highly Successful People

How do you know that you have succeeded?

Well there are many traits of highly successful people you can compare yourself to and this article deals with some of them. Perhaps it is the binary code that you need to set yourself up against, as most of the prominent people in the world who are looking down on the rest of us share these traits.

There are many, and some of them vary from person to person – and so to the convenience of the readers, I have distilled 5 traits of highly successful people to read about.

One has to be confidence and it is almost carbon copied in all the successful people that I have met. Not to be mistaken for arrogance, a highly successful person is able to exude an aura that will almost overpower you at the first meeting.

A belief in one self and knowing that almost nothing in the world can deter them from reaching the goal that they want to is the sort of thing the greats are made of.

They also know what they want and almost never deviate. Their radar is fixed on a small bleep that they are driving to and they will not let anything in the way stop them from reaching this goal. Such focus, such tenacity are the key ingredients for anyone to start seeing massive success. They don’t wander and they don’t languish. They are in constant movement and highly purposeful.

They are also have an extreme amount of concentration and will never let a single piece of information be left out.

Most of us in the world can barely sit through a 15 minute classroom without fidgeting but these people are the rocks of concentration that stand out from the rest of us.

The waves of restlessness will sweep us away but for them, they are the rocks that stand firm.

That and a combination of hard work, will lead anyone to succeed. Hard work I think is 50% of the battle won and if you are willing to entrench yourself in whatever you do, then you will have a great chance of reaching the stars. They say that if they is a road to the sun, not many will be able to traverse it. You can be one of these people and hold the light in your hands.

Led Zeppelin once said that there was a stairway to heaven – its time you make your own.

There was once a brand of t-shirt that had the adage ‘No Fear’ written boldly on it. And I think that this is the attitude that a lot of us should follow today. People who succeed in life have absolutely no fear of it and the only thing to fear – not to overly quote someone else – is fear itself.

Don’t be afraid to take opportunities and seize risks to light up the pathway to success.

A long time a go a man tied a key to a kite and challenged lightning itself to prove him right.
